Report from a shell cultivation

The man we have been in contact with Kåre Isdal is running a shell cultivation in Kvinnherad.

He has two shell cultivations. He started in 1998. And because he was the first in Kvinnherad to make a shell cultivation he got a license to do it very easy. He has about 150 kilometers with rope. From land, there go two ropes that is streched from one part to another part. Between each metre, there is a barrel. For every half  metre there is a rope that goes in a U. It goes about 5 metres down and it is this the shells get attached to. On each rope there can me a massive weight, up to one and a half ton. On a hole lenght it can be around 80 ton shell.
